In order to ensure that no one would be limited in their pursuit of trout, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks instituted a program that allows locations around the state to loan out fishing equipment for anyone who wants to use it. Plentywood Hardware in Plentywood, Montana, is one such location. James Maus, store manager at Plentywood Hardware, says the program was a no-brainer for the store, especially since all costs go through the state organization. The display takes up just a few feet of the salesfloor and attracts a wide array of people who know this program is available in the store. "It's nice because you get a lot of younger kids who use it. It can be either visiting grandkids with their grandparents looking to fish or parents who aren't sure that their kids will end up sticking with it," Maus says. Users can sign out rods and reels and have access to basic tackle like hooks, sinkers and bobbers. Anglers can check out a rod and reel as well as basic equipment for free at Plentywood Hardware in Plentywood, Montana.
